Lots of Incoming Nepenthes

Posted on April 21, 2012 by lance No Comments

Lately, I just bought a lot of colorful and rare Nepenthes to finally top off my Highland growing area. The problem is my highland grow box only has a limited amount of room..I dont even know where I’ll fit the humidifier when it arrives! Sure, there looks like a lot of space in the above picture, but this was taken months ago. Now, there’s a lot more plants and a lot less room. I plan to take out the terrariums, replace them with 4 water trays, and top off the collection with some rare and colorful plants. Hopefully I can fill up every corner with a plant to have as many fit in there as possible. Aside from a few extremly rare plants I will be getting in the future like N. veitchi “candy stripped”, I dont expect to be buying any big plants in the next few years for my HL chamber. As sad as it sounds, I just have to cope with it until college, when hopefully I will be able to afford a house (and greenhouse) of my own. Just imagine how big even the smallest plant will be! That could be a problem too. Anyways, heres the list of plants Im getting:

N. macfarlanei AW clone <- very colorful and uncommon species

N. x Dormouse [N. (ventricosa x bellii) x dubia] (SE) <- green pitchers with red colors

N. eymae X TM SG private grower <- rare, stripped TM hybrid

N. (ventricosa X sibuyanensis) X (northiana X veitchii) <- very stripped and colorful hybrid

Some of them will still be recovering due to the harsh winter condition they experienced. I will be posting pictures of each of them once they arrive.
