First sign of springtime!! Feb. 2012

Today I noticed that one of my Sarraenias has produced its first pitcher leaf..not much, but certainly a good sign that this year will be a flowering one! For those that don’t know, last year none of my mature Sarracenias flowered. My S. leucophylla flowered, but this was in july. Usually my Leucophyllas flower in around early March, with the majority of the latter flowering around April-May. Hopefully this year the weather is warmer, and I can finally get some flowers to make hybrids with! The Venus Fly Traps are already stirring out of sleep and are producing their first traps of the season. There will be more updates to come (hopefully!).
